Carrie Hamilton, 38, actress, , lung cancer
Carrie Hamilton was an American actress and singer. She was a daughter of comedienne/actress Carol Burnett and the late producer Joe Hamilton. She was also the god-daughter of British actress Julie Andrews. Her works led to miscellaneous productions for stage, film, video, and television. She took the role of Reggie Higgins in the TV version of the musical Fame for 5th and 6th season and created the role of Maureen Johnson in the first national tour of the stage musical Rent . Hamilton occasionally appeared with her mother on film. They co-starred in a 1988 TV movie titled Hostage. Nine years later, mother and daughter also starred on an episode of Touched By An Angel titled "The Comeback." Hamilton played an aspiring Broadway star whose mother (Burnett) had also made a run for Broadway fame. Carrie Hamilton died from lung cancer on January 20, 2002, in Los Angeles at age 38. She was burried in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
